Can you believe this gorgeous girl was my very first newborn four years ago! I was managing portrait studios at the time and had been nominated for Photographer of the Year and had to put together my entry portfolio. I had shot newborn-ish age babies but wanted to do a “real” newborn session. My good friend Anndalyn was pregnant and due at the perfect time so we went for it! I brought in my own props, blocked off a couple hours from the books and fell in love with little tiny Ellison! Unfortunately I didn’t end up winning Photographer of the Year but I did find my passion! Four years later so much has changed and I am so grateful for everyone that helped me get to where I am today! I am truly blessed! ♥

Isabella & Evelyn
“Happy girls are the prettiest” – Audrey Hepburn
Sweet Bella & Evelyn seem almost regulars at the studio now participating in both of the recent mini sessions and Bella’s newborn and 3 month pictures and these gorgeous sisters are always smiling! Their mom always dresses them in the cutest outfits too which makes it even more fun for me!
Halloween Minis for Autism
“If a man does not keep pace with his companions perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears however measured or far away”
Back in July my sweet son Asher was diagnosed Autistic. For anyone in this same boat you know that means a whirlwind of emotions, paperwork, evaluations, stress and uncertainty. In the mix of all the chaos I was receiving friendly reminder emails every so often that I had signed up to do an autism walk with Autism Speaks and was supposed to be fundraising. Oh right…fundraising that would fit nicely into my already hectic schedule! Then I had an idea! And idea that I was so excited about! Halloween Mini’s for Autism! I love Halloween, like LOVE it! And what a better way to fund raise than take pictures of adorable kiddos in their costumes! It was a match made in heaven! A quick little post on facebook and the day of minis was 80% sold out! That post shared to my personal page and the Autism Speaks page and I was booked…solid! I even opened up sessions an hour earlier than I had planned! I was so overwhelmed with the incredible response! My little idea even sparked Erin Wallis of Erin Wallis Photography in Campbell River , Canada to do a similar fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis Canada! Now this may be a silly little pipe dream but imagine every Halloween more and more photographers did minis for charity! That my friends could be really cool! Here are some favorites from the minis plus some great snap shots from the Autism walk! Looking forward to next year!!
Talyn, Tarver & Trista
Talyn, Tarver & Trista’s mom won a free session from a giveaway recently on my friend Steph’s blog Somewhat Simple! (Steph is mom to teeny tiny newborn Mason I photographed a while back!) Anyway these three kiddos were so much fun and are all so gorgeous they were a pleasure to photograph!
Toni Mira
“So they were so incredible, I had to show my husband:-) he LOVES them..”
The above quote is a from an email I received from Toni’s mom Kathleen after sending her Toni’s gallery! The pictures were supposed to be a surprise for her husbands birthday! Ha-ha! Love it! But can you blame her! I would have totally done the same thing!
Toni was a total ball of energy! I’m not sure she stopped bouncing the whole session but I think she had a ton of fun! And seriously how cute is she! Love love love it!
Charlotte & Ezra
A sibling shares childhood memories and grown-up dreams. ~Author Unknown
This was/is such a bittersweet session for me. I adore these kids with all my heart. My dear friend Chantae is mom to these gorgeous kiddos and to my sadness they moved away this month. This was a last minute shoot before they left and as fun as it was it was sad, as they will be so deeply missed.
Charlotte & Ezra are growing up so fast it’s incredible. Charlotte is stunningly beautiful and such a sweetheart. But believe me we had to pull out full theatrics to get real smiles out of this girl! And as you can tell in the pictures she is all about accessories right now! Ezra is such a little stud… and I think he knows it! He gave me the cutest little grins and smirks I just loved it! This whole session was fabulous, I could honestly post every picture on here…but I’ll try to contain myself!
Aubrey & Madeline
These two sisters are very special to me. Their mom is one of my best friends and they just moved away. They used to live across the street, so Breanne and I got together frequently to craft and sew while our kiddos played and were entertained by their shared love of Yo Gabba Gabba. I miss them all so dearly and can’t wait to see them at the end of the summer.
Obviously, it was a must that we get the girls back in the studio before they left!
(You may recognize Madeline from her newborn session.)
Breanne had the great idea to use the same petti skirt and headband to show just how much bigger she’s getting! It was super fun and of course crazy adorable! Here are my favorites from their shoot… there is quite a few, but what can I say, I love these girls!
Alyson Grace – Four Years
This is my niece Aly doing what she does best…being sassy! Every year we do pictures for her birthday and though the adults are really excited, she kind of seems to hate it. But this year SHE was really excited…then she hated it. Of course, right?! At least I got a couple of cute ones. I just love this girl!
Lucas Robert
Little Ryan Elizabeth’s big brother Lucas wanted a turn in the spotlight which lead to an impromptu session! With that face and to die for hair, you can tell they really had to twist my arm!!
Lucas was full of energy and LOVED the camera! Look out mom, you’ve got a little heart-breaker on your hands!!
