What should we wear?
A mix of simple and trendy clothing in a few coordinating colors is usually best. Accessories and layers are encouraged in order to add visual depth. Avoid loud patterns, logos, and anything else that will detract from the people in the portrait.

Babies should wear as little clothing as possible to avoid unattractive bunching and bulk, and newborns are photographed naked. If you have a special clothing item (such as a blessing gown) you’d like your newborn photographed in, please let me know at the time of booking.
Parents being photographed with their newborn should wear simple matching solid color clothing such as long sleeve cotton shirts and jeans. Black, White or Neutrals is best and long sleeves is recommended. Clothing in these images should act as a background and not take any attention away from the emotion in the images.

Do you have props?
I do- I actually may have somewhat of an addiction to props! If you have a specific prop in mind, please let me know when booking your session.
Please note that not all of the props seen on the website are mine. I always encourage clients to bring their own unique and personal items, so please ask if you have your heart set on something!

Will you Photoshop us?
Yes, a basic edit is done on all final images; however, I believe “photoshopping” should be minimal and only enhance an exceptional base image. Occasionally, I get inspired be a little more artistic and I will offer the fine art prints, collages, etc. for purchase though the print shop. (These images are not included on your disk.)
Skin touch up is included in the basic edit, but please specify if you have a scar, mole, etc. that you would like removed. Please feel free to email me regarding any additional Photoshop requests before your session.
In general, just come to the session clean and tidy (including your clothes!) and don’t forget to clean and trim everyone’s fingernails, especially mom and dad for newborn sessions.

Can I get the disk and does it come with full resolution images I can print where I choose?
Yes, the disk of full resolution images is included in your package. A copyright release is granted for printing wherever you choose. Please keep in mind that you will typically find that the cheaper the print, the cheaper the quality, so choosing where to print your custom portraits is crucial.
Prints can be purchased though my print shop to ensure maximum quality in color, clarity, and cropping. I can work with you on custom orders and if in the rare case the image does not print as you had hoped, a reprint will be done at no extra cost.
