There is nothing like the blessing
Of a bouncing, baby boy
He will fill your home with energy
And touch your heart with joy.
He’ll hug you and bug you
And try you within
But each precious memory
You’ll treasure again and again. ~ Linda LaTourelle

I am so excited to share with you a new member to our family, my sweet little nephew Jake! Jake was named after his parents best friend who was a pilot and died tragically in a crash a few years ago much too young. When I saw this little flight cap I had to have it for him and it was lucky Jake was a little late arriving because it came just in time! I was also honored to photograph Jake with his dad, Justin, in uniform which made us all tear up a little. I’m so excited to see little Jake grow up and get to know his unique little personality, but for now we’ll focus on the squishy deliciousness of Jake at 7 days new!

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never.
A mother is something absolutely new.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I’m telling you these stunning mamas to be keep coming to see me and making my job so dang easy, I love it! Katie was so much fun in the studio! Constantly nervous that she was making a dorky face she’d pull away from a moment and look straight at me or her husband with a questioning face. Of course right before I was about to click the shutter and every time, cracking me up! I had to keep reassuring her that the sometimes awkward belly holding and long loving stares at her newly rounded bump were totally “normal” and beautiful and to just keep smiling! 🙂 I hope once she sees how unmistakably beautiful and glowing she is in these images she’ll finally trust me! 😉

Can you say bombshell!

The absolutely stunning Lisa came to visit me a few weeks ago all set for her maternity session with the most gorgeous outfits every! This girl knows how to feel sexy while pregnant let me tell you! I couldn’t wait to start shooting and we had so much fun! I even got to use the brand new belly wrap I made and it complimented her outfit perfectly! Love love love!  I have to share all most all of them in this blog post because picking a few favorites was impossible!

“Not flesh of my flesh, Nor bone of my bone
But still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute
You didn’t grow under my heart but in it.”

I am so blessed by the incredible families that come through my studio. Hearing their stories and getting to know them truly enriches my life.

Back in the spring a dear friend of mine bought a newborn session as a gift to her long time friends Elise & Josh who were thrilled to finally be starting their family through adoption. But due to the overwhelming emotion and the weight of such an incredibly hard decision to give up a child, the birth mother decided to keep the baby. But even with hearts broken Elise and Josh didn’t give up hope and knew they would have their family some day so they started the process again.
Well they say everything happens for a reason and I truly believe that. And I think if you asked Elise and Josh they would agree too because months later they have now been blessed with the most adorable, scrumptious little angel you’ve ever seen! Once Bennett was born he was able to stay with them in their own room at the hospital and the bonding was instantaneous. They have not been separated since and everyone is doing great. Elise and Josh will forever be greatful to Bennetts birth mother for giving them their greatest blessing and have even given him the middle name Cort after her name Cortney. -I told you they were incredible people!

It was such a pleasure to capture Bennett’s newborn pictures and this family will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for blessing my life.

  • Elise - I love how they turned out! Thank you so much for capturing such a special time in our lives. You are awesome!ReplyCancel

“So they were so incredible, I had to show  my husband:-) he LOVES them..”

The above quote is a from an email I received from Toni’s mom Kathleen after sending her Toni’s gallery! The pictures were supposed to be a surprise for her husbands birthday! Ha-ha! Love it! But can you blame her! I would have totally done the same thing!
Toni was a total ball of energy! I’m not sure she stopped bouncing the whole session but I think she had a ton of fun! And seriously how cute is she! Love love love it!
